All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV) Trails in the Wayne National Forest, near Hocking Hills, Logan and Nelsonville, Ohio
The Wayne National Forest, in the Hocking Hills area, provides designated
trails specifically for all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), horses and mountain bikes.
In 2005, more than 17,500 riders visited the Wayne National Forests motorized trail
system making it Ohios largest ATV and off-highway motorcycle (OHM) trail
provider. Discover an entire trail system deep in the heart of Wayne

WHERE TO
RIDE
The Wayne National Forest ATV trail in the Hocking Hills region is the Monday Creek ORV area, located in the
Athens Ranger District. Trails are open for use from April 16 through December
14 each year. It can be accessed by four trail heads:
- New Straitsville: on Highway 595, 2 miles south of New Straitsville
- Dorr Run: follow signs off Highway 33, about 2 miles south of intersection Highway 595 and Highway 33; multiple trailheads.
- Monday Creek Trail Head: on County Road 24 between Carbon Hill and Buchtel.
- Long Ridge: off Highway 78, north of Buchtel, south of Murray City.

NOTE:
The Wayne National Forest (WNF) All-purpose Trail Permit is different from the
State of Ohio APV registration sticker. Wayne National Forest's All-purpose
Trail Permit may be purchased from any WNF district offices or local
participating vendors listed above. The State of Ohio APV registration sticker, however, can
only be obtained from Ohio BMV offices. Riders are required to obtain both
the WNF trail permit and the State of Ohio APV registration sticker before
riding WNF trails.
