HOCKING HILLS SCENIC BYWAY NAMED

HOCKING HILLS SCENIC BYWAY RECEIVES OFFICIAL DESIGNATION

Logan , Ohio   USA – The Hocking Hills Tourism Association is proud to announce that the Ohio Department of Transportation has designated a new Hocking Hills Scenic Byway.  This dramatically beautiful route includes State Route 374, from Rockbridge through the Hocking State Forest area, passing Hocking Hills State Park and Cedar Falls to State Route 56, west past Ash Cave and back east on State Route 664.

“We are thrilled that the Ohio Department of Transportation has recognized the scenic beauty and the cultural and historical significance of this region by designating the route an Ohio Scenic Byway,” said Hocking Hills Tourism Association Executive Director Randie Adam.  “The Hocking Hills Scenic Byway offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the extraordinary the beauty and culture of the region.”

Visitors will find a detailed itinerary and map of the Hocking Hills Scenic Byway at the newly redesigned Hocking Hills visitor website, www.1800HOCKING.com, along with details on how to book a trip to Ohio’s Hocking Hills. 

“The Ohio Department of Transportation is pleased to be adding the beautiful Hocking Hills Scenic Byway to our great collection of byways in Ohio,” said Paul Staley, ODOT Section Chief.  “We appreciate all the support and hard work put forth by the local byway organization in order to achieve this important designation.”

The area’s wide variety of accommodations includes everything from a reproduction gypsy wagon or a traditional Sioux tipi, to relaxing hotels and inviting country inns.  In addition to numerous natural attractions, hiking trails, parks and forests, the Hocking Hills area offers, unique eateries, fine works of art created by area artisans, antique shops, canoeing, horseback riding, golf and even massages for the perfect way to unwind after a day of hiking.
